Some of you may have already noticed, but in addition to announcing my participation in the Nakanojo Biennale 2025, I have another piece of news to share this summer. From June 25th to 27th, I will be taking part in NFT.NYC 2025, a major event in New York focusing on Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). There was an open call for artworks last year, and I’m happy to share that one of my NFT works was selected and will be exhibited at the event.
もしかすると、すでにお気づきの方もいらっしゃるかもしれませんが、中之条ビエンナーレ2025への参加のお知らせに加えて、この夏、もう一つ参加するイベントがあります。来月、6月25日から27日までニューヨークで開催される「NFT.NYC 2025」という、非代替性トークン（NFT）を主に扱うイベントで、昨年公募がありました。幸い運良く1点入選し、私もNFT作品を展示できることになりました。
NFT.NYC 2025 is one of the world’s largest annual events focused on NFTs. This year, it will take place at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square, New York City.
The event is known as a global platform that brings together a wide range of people involved in NFTs and Web3 technologies — including artists, developers, investors, collectors, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts.
Below is a brief overview of the event.
Dates: June 25 (Wed) – June 27 (Fri), 2025
Venue: Marriott Marquis Times Square, New York City
Organizer: NFT.NYC (Hosting NFT-focused events since 2018)
Participants: Over 70,000 people have attended past events. In 2022, more than 16,000 participants from over 70 countries joined. A similar scale is expected for 2025.
Themes: The event focuses on the latest trends in NFTs and Web3 technologies, real-world applications (including art, gaming, entertainment, and finance), as well as community building and support for creators.
NFT.NYC 2025は、NFTに関する世界最大級の年次イベントで、今回はニューヨーク市タイムズスクエアにあるマリオット・マーキスで開催されます。
このイベントは、NFTやWeb3技術に関わるアーティスト、開発者、投資家、コレクター、起業家、そして愛好者など、グローバルなコミュニティを一堂に集めるプラットフォームとして知られています。
以下に、イベントの概要を簡単にご紹介します。
開催日程：2025年6月25日（水）～6月27日（金）
会場：マリオット・マーキス タイムズスクエア（ニューヨーク市）
主催者：NFT.NYC（2018年よりNFTイベントを開催）
参加者：過去のイベントでは累計70,000人以上が参加し、2022年には70カ国以上から16,000人が集まりました。2025年も同規模の参加が予想されています。
テーマ：NFTおよびWeb3技術の最新トレンド、実世界での応用（アート、ゲーム、エンターテインメント、金融など）、さらにコミュニティ構築やクリエイター支援にも焦点が当てられます。
Since a large number of NFT works will be exhibited, I don’t yet know exactly where or when mine will be shown. If I’m lucky, it might even appear on one of the digital billboards in Times Square (though that might be a long shot). Still, the idea of something that exists only in digital form—like an NFT—being displayed at a real-world tourist landmark sounds impressive and visually compelling. It would make a nice addition to my portfolio.
多数のNFT作品が展示される予定ですので、私の作品が実際にどこで、どのタイミングで展示されるのかはまだ分かりません。運が良ければ、タイムズスクエアの電光掲示板に映し出されるかもしれません(可能性は低いかもしれませんが…)。NFTのようにデジタル上にしか存在しないものが、実際の観光名所で展示されるとなると、作品資料として加えるには、響きも見栄えも良いですよね。
Interestingly, the piece I submitted for this exhibition is a rare example of my work that incorporates AI. To be more precise, many of you reading this newsletter may have already seen it — it’s an excerpt from the video projection mapping work I presented at Gallery North on December 3rd of last year. 実は、今回の展示に応募した作品は、私の作品群の中では珍しく、AIを活用したものです。正確に言うと、このニュースレターを読んでくださっている方々にはすでにご覧いただいていますが、昨年12月3日にGallery Northで発表したプロジェクションマッピングのビデオ作品の一場面を抜粋したものです。(下記リンクを参照してください👇)
To be honest, I initially had some hesitation about exhibiting a digitally generated image created with AI as one of my own works. But I submitted it casually, thinking, “If it gets selected, maybe I’ll explore working with AI — if not, no harm done.” To my surprise, it was accepted, and that experience shifted my perspective. I’ve since started thinking that, as long as I remain mindful of copyright and ethical considerations, I’d like to explore more creative possibilities using AI. It’s strange how something you once resisted can turn into something you embrace — you never really know what might flip that switch. My life has always had a bit of a coin-toss nature to it, so I hope this becomes a fun opportunity for you all to enjoy my AI-generated work as well.
私自身、AIで作ったデジタルの平面作品を自分の作品として展示することには、正直少し抵抗がありました。ただ、「入選したらAIで何か始めてみよう。ダメでもともと」という軽い気持ちで応募したところ、思いがけず入選という形になりました。それをきっかけに、著作権などの問題には配慮しながら、AIによる表現ももっと積極的に活用してみようと思うようになりました。何がきっかけで「抵抗のあるもの」から「活用できるもの」へと意識が変わるのか、本当にわからないものですね。まぁ、私の人生にはこうしてコインをトスするようなギャンブル的な側面も多いので、今回のことを機に、皆さんにも私がAIを利用した作品も楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。
As a participating artist in NFT.NYC, I was given the opportunity to build my own artist page through a platform called OneHub.nft.nyc. While the site primarily functions as a portfolio, what sets it apart is its strong emphasis on fostering “community” — connecting artists with fans and groups through their NFT works.
そして、NFT.NYCの参加アーティストとして、OneHub.nft.nycというサイトを通じて、自分の作品サイトを構築する機会を得ました。このウェブサイトは主にポートフォリオとしての役割を果たしますが、大きな特徴は、NFT作品を通じて作家とファン、あるいはそのグループとの「コミュニティを築くこと」に重点を置いている点です。

On this platform, similar to Substack, I’m inviting supporters to join through a subscription model. There are three tiers available: Subscriber (Free), Fan ($1/month), SuperFan ($10/month)

Each tier comes with its own perks — including different types of NFTs and special NFT badges that serve as proof of fandom (I might be the one designing them myself?). But perhaps the most notable feature is the “Community Credit” system. These credits can be used on the NFT.NYC site, and 100 Community Credits are equivalent to $1.00 USD. It seems the organizers are planning to roll out even more features in the future, so stay tuned for what’s to come!
各Tierにはそれぞれの特典として、異なるタイプのNFTを受け取れたり、ファンであることを証明するNFTバッジも用意される予定です(私が作ることになるのかなぁ)。そして、最も大きな特徴は、「コミュニティクレジット」と呼ばれるポイントが得られることです。これはNFT.NYCのサイト上で利用でき、100コミュニティクレジット＝1米ドル相当として換算される仕組みです。運営オフィスも今後さまざまな展開を予定しているようなので、これからの動きもぜひ楽しみにしていてください。
